Information, Please!
In telephone's days of infancy,
Operators would inquire, "Number, please?"
Callers then asked for information
About location in the nation
Of a searched-for party.
Those were the simple days
When people were afraid
To share the simplest personal facts;
But the great information highway
Was just beginning to be paved.
How many places have we shared
Our personal information to the nation,
Without a single thought or care -
We give it all.
And have no feelings of beware.
Doctor's offices, and employment applications,
Credit card applications, resumes for positions,
Requests for loans and new bank accounts,
Social media; There is no lacking of amount
Of information that we spout
Out upon The Internet.
And then we're taken by surprise
Upon learning that some guys
Unknown have stolen our identity.
Oh please! We can't be that stupid!
Really? Information, please!

I'm afraid we ARE that stupid and then it surprises the heck out of us to realize we have a serious problem.
Another great job...you'll have to make up a little book of your alphabetic poems.
I am a little wary of what you have mentioned. I may be guilty too of it :(

hey folks just sayiin.
make that last word 'sayin'""
Yeah, we put it all out there, for the world to see. In this day and age, it's hard to go around it, but you're right, sharing info is going to far.
Loving the poem.

Such true words...it's amazing how much information is out there. And almost anyone can find it too. Kind of scary when you think about it.

It seemed like people were cautious until Facebook, and then it all just went crazy with information shared, kids pictures posted, etc etc. Thanks for visiting my blog today! I like your alphabet poems. And I actually do remember when the operator would say "Number please."
My grandmother was an operator for Ohio Bell many years ago and back then who would have thought that we would have to worry about numbers and all our information.
seems so sad that things have gone so far down the tubes. I will visit back.
Hi, Emma! great
