Report on Doctor's Visit

Hey, Y'all,
We were up early today, taking showers and getting ready to go into Knoxville. We decided to eat breakfast at Hardee's. Gramps and I shared a sausage, egg biscuit, and he had a plate of biscuits and gravy. After our coffee, we went on to Imazo's house and I left Gramps there, while Imazo and I went to St. Mary's Professional Building for our appointments.

I met the doctor who is going to be doing my laporiscopic surgery to remove a large cyst on my ovary. While I am under the anesthesia, they will take a slice of the cyst, freeze it and check it to see if it is malignant. If it is not, then the surgery will be over. If it is, then he will go back in with an incision and check the other organs to see if there are cysts on any of them, and remove the cysts. Lymph nodes will also be removed in the abdominal area. The omentum will also be removed (as I understood him to say).

I was quite impressed by the doctor, his affability and his professionalism. He took plenty of time to talk to me, and to explain everything, as though I were the only person that he had to see today. I liked that about him. He answered questions, and told me to call if I had others.

The surgery is set for two weeks from today. He wanted me to see my cardiologist and was quite pleased when I told him that I already have an appointment scheduled for Monday to see the cardiologist. I also plan to see my family doctor and let her in on what is going on in my life. I am very confident that everything that can be done will be done.

Mae, Imazo, Gramps and I had our "Friday afternoon Movie date" today, and enjoyed a very funny movie with Bill Murray and Richard Dreyfuss. We sat there and laughed and forgot about troubles and everything else. We had lunch at Shoney's before the movie.

Well, tomorrow is cleaning day here at the Young household. Laundry, cleaning out the fridge, and vacuuming and all that kind of unfun stuff that has to be done. I may get it all done, and then again, I may not. Just whatever plays out, that is what I will do. Gramps has already pulled a hamper into the kitchen with his dirty clothes to wash. He does his part. Ha.

This is Blabbin' Grammy signing off for the evening. No good television is on tonight. Bummer! Love to all of you. More tomorrow. Bye for now. Thanks for continued prayers on our behalf.
