Sexism is Not Dead!

Hey, Y'all,
Well, I was out early this morning and headed to Wally World, (for those of you who don't know where that is, it is Wal-mart) and had my usual breakfast there of sausage/egg biscuit, with an apple pie. While I was sitting there, I saw two guys and an elderly lady come in and sit down right across the room from me. They looked interesting, (but then, most people do) and one of the men, who was several years younger than the lady, told her to go get them some coffee. 

I looked over at them, smiled and said, "She gets to go get the coffee because she is the woman?" His face turned an interesting shade of red, and he replied, "I guess I could have gone to get it since I am younger." 

I said, "Yeah, that is kind of what I was thinking. Is that why your face is reflecting that red color of your shirt?" He said, "Yeah". Anyway, when I got ready to go, I walked over to them and said, "I talk to every body as though I know them well." The lady had just brought in the coffee and set it down. I told her what I had said, and she said, "I am an author and have written three children's books, and am getting the fourth one published. I began writing them when I was 79 and am 83 now." I said, "That is wonderful!"

She proceeded to tell me that they are illustrated in water color and are about her life on a farm in Oklahoma when she was a girl. She did not tell me her name however. I did notice that she could have really used some dental work, because her teeth are in terrible shape. She is missing a lot of them, and the ones she has look like they are ready to be worked on. (This is only a commentary and not a criticism.) She continued to tell me about a book tour she is going to be going on to promote her books. If I had had more time, I would have sat down with her and talked longer. 


I guess there may be hope for me to write and get published? It would seem so. The only thing is, I have so many other interests, so many things to do...so little time. What about the painting I want to do....and the other stuff??? 


Well, anyway, I went on into the Wal-mart proper and did my grocery shopping and talked to some other people that were shopping as well. I did find some bargains in the clothing section...some shirts for $3.00 and some for 7.00. How about that??

I am home and have studied the Sunday School lesson I will be sharing with my class tomorrow. We are beginning a study of Romans. Wonderful scriptures so full of Good News!
I have a lot of other things to do today as well.
