Scents Knock Me Senseless

Hi, Y'all,
Today has been a busy (sort of) day...I got out at 9 a.m. and went to have my gravy/biscuits breakfast, then went to a fresh air market that sells fruit and veggies. (Thank you, Alex, for the good suggestion!) I bought some Georgia peaches, some plums and a couple of really sweet cantaloupes (the orange looking ones) and they smell soooooooo good. I had a sample of one that they had cut up and I was sold. Ha.

After leaving there, I went back to Kroger's and bought a few things, then headed home. All that took only an hour, and I was back home before the temp had reached the high for today (105) with a higher heat index than that. Even at that it was really getting warm by the time I got home.

While I was in Le Peep's Restaurant, I was reminded again of how many men (and women) wear scents to make them smell aromatic. For my part, they could just take a good shower with Ivory soap or Lifebuoy or some such clean soap and forget the stinky stuff. Nothing puts me off food like having that stuff assail my nostrils.

Did you know that at least twenty percent of all Americans have allergies and for many of them, the smell of perfumes can trigger asthma attacks. Believe me, I know personally that it can happen. Are you a wearer of perfumes and colognes and after shave products?? If so, have you ever considered the effect of your aroma on those around you? If you have ever had someone kind of back off from standing near you, you may be wearing a loud fragrance that offends.

The young man who seated me this morning in the restaurant, was quite pungent with his fumes. I am often tempted to let people know how their aroma is affecting me. I am aware that most people who think they have to "smell good" don't even consider they would smell better unadorned with cologne or perfume. Thanks for letting me vent. My daughter, Carol, has more trouble with them than I do. She is too polite to say anything to an offender, but I say if you don't let them know, you are just going to suffer needlessly.

Well, that is it for today. I did get some laundry done today and need to fold it before I go to bed tonight, and might even make my bed. ha ha ha.

This is Blabbin' Grammy signing off for this evening. Much love to each of you, my friends and family. Bye for now. More later.

Here it is heavy rain and very windy.......so much for summer.

Boy, do I hear your venting! Those body aromas never fail to trigger a migraine, which are no fun at all.
have a blessed and restful weekend!

Hi Ruby, just checking in to say hi. I have my nose to the grindstone with my writing, so I haven't been visiting my friends much lately. Trying to catch up on a few today.

I have that sensitivity to perfumes and other strong scents as well. I've had to move to a different seat in a restaurant or movie theater when seated near someone who apparently took a bath in the stuff. Haven't had the nerve to say something yet, but I bet I will someday.

Hey,Y'all,

I have quite often let people know how it affects me when they stink with it...very gently, of course. Sometimes just a sneeze and a "wow, wonder who that is with all the perfume on?" spoken a little loudly to a friend who is with you, will let the offender know.
Temperatures here continue to be in the hundreds and will till at least next Sunday. Whew! Hot, hot, hot!
