Hey, Y'all,
Well, it is just a little past noon, and the temperature outside today is supposed to reach 101, so I reckon I won't be a'wanderin' around out there today for any reason. I went outside about 9:30 and checked out a package containing a bookcase bed that Carol and I purchased last Saturday with the intention of seeing if I could assemble it.
While I was out there, sitting on my little folding stool in the garage, a couple of young ladies walked up and asked me about purchasing some educational books from a company they are representing. I said that I reckoned not and they asked if they could use my restroom. I replied that they sure could and would they like a drink of water, too.
I came back inside with them, and we stood in the kitchen a few minutes (after they used the rest room) and I gave them some water and some chocolate chip cookies that were on a plate. They were cookies that I had left over from having the grandkids over on last Friday evening to watch a movie. I had not eaten any of them. They ate six of them and I put the other four in a plastic baggie to take with them. The two girls are here in the area on an internship and are from North Carolina and Virginia. They left and I was once again alone in my garage with the instruction booklet to the bed assembly.
The booklet showed that there were about a jillion parts to the bed, and being the sensible person that I am, although I consider myself quite experienced at assembling products purchased at Walmart, decided that the bed could wait until I have another pair of hands and another head (someone else's) to do the job.
I came back inside and soon after I sat down at my computer, I was delighted to see my grandson, Daniel, Skyping me to chat for a few minutes. So after we enjoyed our chat, I decided I should do my blog for today, and here I am. He told me that I should be able to sit out front and see the fireworks from Boys Ranch here in Bedford on Monday, the fourth. So, I will sit in my garage (in my Cracker Barrel rocking chair) and watch the fireworks.
I enjoyed eating out on Monday night at Fuddrucker's with some of the Seniors from my church. We always have a good time together and I look forward to it each time. We are a very congenial group.
Tomorrow morning I will have the questionable pleasure of my quarterly visit to my family doctor. Oh yeah....ha.
Carol will be back from Arkansas this evening and they will be going back there on Saturday with a load of goods to take to Jenny and Jimmy for their home. They found a rental home the next day after Carol and Vanita got there. We on this end are presently collecting items to send back. We don't know yet how the fire started. Those of you who are friends on facebook can see the video Carol made of the burned out house. It is quite heartbreaking to view it.
Well, that is about it for today. This is Blabbin' Grammy signing off for today. Much love to each of you, my friends and family. Bye for now. More later.

How sweet of you to offer drinks and cookies to your visitors. Most people aren't very kind to door-to-door salespeople, as though they forget they're people, too.
Enjoy those fireworks! And keep cool.
A wonderful guesture to invite the people in for water and cookies, though here we have to be on our guard who we let in.
Have a wonderful day.
Yvonne.
