Cardiologist's Report
Hey, y'all,
This is just a note to family and friends who are interested...wanted to give you an update after seeing my cardiologist...I seem to be doing okay...echo cardiogram turned out more or less same as last one. Pace maker is still doing about 50% of my heartbeats which is in normal range. He told me to just pace myself and only do what I feel like doing. (That suits me, all right) The aortic valve seems like it might be a little narrower but not appreciably. He says these echos are not completely reliable. If it goes down to say .7 millimeter we might have to do something. Sounds like he might agree with what Dr. Kelly said three years ago..."She's a walking time bomb. ha." As Brenda Lee Johnson of "The Closer" says, "time is passing, tick tock, tick tock.
Lost my credit card again today...just can't seem to keep that little piece of plastic where it's supposed to be. Must have pulled it out of my dress pocket when I got my keys out to unlock my car, or maybe, just left it on the cashier's stand. Anyway, I have called and cancelled it. No charges after mine were on it. No harm, no foul.
Tha-tha-tha-that's all folks. :)

Happy Birthday Celebration with Amy
Hey, Y'all,
Well, today is a break day from A to Z and I wanted to take the opportunity to share some pictures of our time spent with grand-daughter, Amy. She and Matthew came over to Carol and Daryl's home where we had yummy sandwiches prepared by my daughter, Carol, (Matt's mom), and then we had ice cream and cake for dessert. Grandson, Matt, made the sourdough bread for the sandwiches.
I made the pictures of Matt and Amy for my blog and also for my family photos kept on my 'puter. For many years I have been the family photographer and have quite a few on it.
This has been a busy week for me, with an appointment kept with my eye surgeon who has turned me loose to have new prescriptions for my eyeglasses. As you may know, I have had Lasik surgery on each eye to remove scar tissue from previous cataract surgery, and my sight is much improved. (Praise God and a good surgeon!)
This week I have appointments with my podiatrist, my family doctor and my cardiologist. I reckon by the end of the week, I should be thinking I'm either in tip top condition or ready for one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel. Ha ha ha.
Here are the pictures:
Ah, wouldn't it be lovely to be 25 again? I'd have 54 years ahead of me. :)
Anyway, it was a great time and we watched an episode of "Sherlock Holmes" the modern version that is a BBC production, and enjoyed the time together. We really missed the family that was not there. Love to all of you.
Thanks to all of my blogger friends reading my posts, and all the support you are giving me. See you on Monday! A to Z continues then. This is Blabbin' Grammy signing off for today. Much love to each of you, my friends and family. Bye for now. More later.

Dirty Wrinkled Paper Bag (P.S. No longer have comment modification)
((Hey, Y'all, for my regular readers who kind of keep up with what I am doing, I had supper at grandson, Andrew's home with wife, Julia, and their three children along with other family members. I am so blessed to be near family now. We celebrated the birthdays of little 2 year old Brooke and her daddy, Andrew. We had a wonderful time and they opened presents. What a joy it is to have family we love and who loves us, and what a contrast to people who live on the streets. We can count ourselves so fortunate. I am also thankful that we are all safe following the tornadoes that ripped through our county yesterday. Love to all of you. Blabbin' Grammy. ))

Laughin' and Cryin' Stuff
Hey, Y'all,
Well, some of the best times people can have is when families get together, especially when they are loving and caring for each other. We had some of those enjoyable hours this week, when we got to see family from Illinois. The reason for their being here was the result of a sad occasion of the passing of Whitney's maternal grandmother. We were surely aching for her and her family. Daniel and Whitney and their four children had come down for the funeral and decided to stop by this way for a couple of days. We were so glad to be able to spend some time with them.
Here are some pictures to share with you all.
Well, those are the pictures I took while we were all together. There was a lot of laughter and good fun, as there always is when we get together. Memories were made and hugs were shared.
It is important to laugh a lot every day and I do so, even when I am alone. It helps to keep me on an even keel, and I think it is much easier to be a laugher than a grumbler. I know for sure it makes life easier. It would be easy to become depressed. Oh, yeah, speaking of being depressed, I promised to take part in a sad songs blogfest today.
My mom was always singing sad songs when she was having what was one of her "blue" days. I think she must have suffered from days of depression. We all grew up (my four brothers and my sister, and I) hearing and learning the sad songs she sang.
One of the songs was "Please, Mr. Conductor" and was about a young boy (or man) traveling on a train and trying to make it to his mother's bedside before she died. He didn't have the money for a ticket, and was pleading with the conductor not to put him off of the train. I don't know if he made it home or not.
Another was the story of two little children whose mother and father were gone and they were barefoot and hungry sitting on the steps of the church and the church warden found them the next morning, dead, and the song ends with, "the angels found room for them to dwell with their mama that night."
Then there was the song that tells of a little girl who is calling on the telephone to speak to her mama who is under neath the golden stair in heaven. (Back then there were telephone operators that spoke to the person using the telephone) The operator spoke to the girl and pretending to be the mama said, "yes, dear heart, I'll soon be home, kiss your mommy, kiss me darling, through the telephone."
Don't forget about the song that tells of a little boy who is dying, and he tells his mama to give his toys to his playmates, but "put my little shoes away." Dubby, (my hubby who passed away nearly two years ago) used to say his mom would sing that song, too, when he was a little boy and he would cry and say, "Mama, don't sing that song."
One of mama's favorite songs was about the Little Mary Fagin, who worked in a pencil factory and was killed by the foreman.
Another sad song was about the miner that got trapped in a coal mine and died there. I think his name was Floyd Collins.
Well, folks that is about it for today. On Sunday, I will be writing my first post for the A to Z challenge. I am looking forward to it. I am going to attempt to write a serialized story. It will definitely be a challenge for me, since I don't have a skeletonized plan for it. It will be WAIG story. (Woven As I Go).
